Review

Named after a mid-90’s sci-fi flick, Terminatrix delivers female fronted electro rock. Originally from South Africa, the band had an urge to deliver music far away from the “commercial love songs” brand that was played on the radio and that irritated the band members so much.

This is rock that flirts with the typical oestrogen goth rock dominating the female fronted metal scene. The vocals are not extravagant; they are plain and at times dull. The music never really rises and it does at times just sound like some late 90’s power rock performed at your local talent show.

The record is very well produced and every instrument gets to stand out and deliver, but it does not save the lack of catchy well-written songs.

“Shadow” is by no means a bad record. It is well wrapped, but the inside is just not fulfilling. It never reaches highs and just stays like a lukewarm beer that you  really just want to get rid of and quickly move on to another cold refreshing one.
