UNDER A SEA OF RIFFS: STRAUSS UNVEIL A FUNK AND FISH-FILLED VIDEO FOR ‘2015’

The European stoner/sludge metal that is Strauss have released a video for their track “2015”, taken from the extremely well-received second EP Luia, over on The Monitors. Strauss

Directed and edited by Peter Jones, the video tells a chilling tale of a scientist driven mad by his love of all things aquatic, as he experiments on fish and other creatures of the deep. Meanwhile, the band play on obliviously, at least until the scientist’s experiments become more sinister…

The track fits right in with the video, a melting pot of musical influences unfolding in a combination of dirty riffs and grit-laden screams, for any fan of Red Fang, Kylesaand Mastodon.

The video and all of its fishy footage was filmed totally from scratch across several hot, sticky nights, and is a murky homage to the good old days of b-movie horror and the utter wickedness of aquatic life,” said the site.
The band commented, “No fish were harmed during the making of this video but some harsh words were exchanged.
