As bad luck would have it, this Antichrist happened to fall on the week of the most intense bouts of snow the country has seen in decades! More so, Friday night is the last night of the flurries from the “Beast From The East” as the Siberian snowstorm had been so affectionately named.
There were doubts as to whether the show would continue at first, but such worries were calmed by the Antichrist team themselves via a Facebook post. The adverse conditions did continue to affect the night, however, with fewer people being able to travel down, including technical staff, deviants and even performers.

We enter into the cavernous spaces that the Fire London is housed within, being set into a series of railways arches. It’s a welcoming sight, the as yet unfilled dance floors, bars and dungeon areas all still radiating in their own UV lighting & fog effects.

The DJs had already begun their sets of the night as the beautifully clad clubbers make their way into the various rooms and dance floors, after a queue at the cloakroom that is!

To kick off the night’s entertainment, compere Galina Rin took to the stage in a karaoke as a means to announce the incoming performances to come next.

After a brief interval, Midnight Iris, performing her “Black Widow Burlesque” show strode out upon the stage to “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)” by Marilyn Manson.

She was awash with colourful splendour with her dual cascading fans and a powerful confidence. I particularly her genuine enthusiasm for the music and performance whilst she twirled and danced.  I also felt that as a performer Iris certainly has the charm and on-stage confidence to make a name for themselves on the alt burlesque scene.

Her performance made for a strong start to the evening and certainly brought a large crowd to the stage by the end, with the crowd cheering on in glee. Next was the “Satan’s Strip Show” which, once again had suffered the brunt of the weather which meant that only two of the performers were available. This did not deter host Galina nor the excitable crowd which had formed.

First up was this slight fairy princess, twirling and dancing with grace.  At first, she was a little shy and ever so slightly uneasy at the attention, but she quickly adapted and shone undo the lights,  utilising her small frame and stature to create an ethereal dance,  bearing all by the end and smiling heavily for it.

The second performer, whom literally strutted out into the lights, had dressed as Kylo Ren, complete with (foam) blaster!
His enthusiasm and confidence was the most notable aspect of this strip-tease,  as he strutted along the stage numerous times,  peeling his costume off piece by piece bearing all but his helmet by the end, with blaster in hand!‎

With there only being the two performers, a contest for free entry +1 to the next Antichrist was held, on condition of the strip being “full monty”.
With this fine young man taking the prize by a long stretch.

After a short break, which allows the assembled deviants and creatures to bleed away into the caverns and enjoy of varying debauchery and despite the cold, the amazing costumes and outfits were very much out en-force tonight, with many choosing to portray themselves as an array of creatures and entities. Spirits were high tonight, with all bars open everyone was helping themselves to the varied drinks on offer, even enjoying the outside areas, seemingly oblivious to the chill outside.

This would have been the set time for Oedipus’s set for tonight’s show, but due to snow based problems, they were unable to attend.
So instead the bill was brought forward and so out came Synth-Icorn, performing her “Medical Madonna”.

The performance consisted of a haunting medical character, with bandages, needles, dental equipment & blood filled vacuum cups!
The show was a spectacularly gory affair as Synth inserted needles into their arm arms whilst peeling away bandages from the face in excruciating fashion. Her performance was certainly a powerful one, with a penchant for violent intimacy.  Which, for those familiar with Synths work, is very much a normality throughout her shows.

As a fitting finale, Synth ripped away each of the blood-filled vacuum cups from the legs, allowing the collected blood to spill down her legs and upon the stage.

The crowd cheered on en mass as Synth took leave of the stage. It was an exciting performance and certainly a highlight for those whom truly appreciate the more extreme sides of the BDSM culture. This was full on performance and one that the crowd took to in great fashion.

After a short break, with piano and mic stand planted upon the stage, the crowd amassed within the main room for the final stage act of the night.

Joe Black, with henchwoman Friedrich Hollandaise, entered upon the stage in full glory & fog, dazzling the crowd and making for a highly amusing set of Disney’s most villainous songs, among Joe’s other material, charged with satire and wit.  The crowd cheered near constantly, shouting along to each song ad chorussing in unison.

The setlist for Joe Black is as follows;
Poor unfortunate souls.
‎Little drop of poison.
Johnny.
Boogie boogie.
Friends on the other side.
Supercalifragilistic.
When I’m cleaning windows.
I want the good times back.

Encore.
Gaston.

After the stage darkened and the DJ Amped the volume, the crowd dispersed among caverns in search of their music tastes and finding it in the varied spaces throughout Fire London.

Much dancing and debauchery was had throughout the spaces and offerings therein and by this time the atmosphere had settled, with the crowds firmly in their preferred spaces and were very much making use of everything on offer.

I noticed within the Hellfire room, was mixed with the metal room which swiftly switched between the 80’s Goth classics and metal gothic/nu-metal tracks which meant for a fun selection of dancers out among the fog effects and blazing lights.

The dungeon, now with seating for the perusal of the acts on display with ease, was more welcoming than ever, with on-hand instructors, professionals & amateurs alike all enjoying equally.

Overall, tonight was a great night out, despite challenging weather, most of which has dissolved into puddles by the time the night sky was turning over anew. Club AntiChrist is an important club night in London, that I, among many others will certainly return soon.
