Review

Vessels for a Dream are a Puerto Rican metalcore band formed in 2012. Formerly known as Resilience the band had some changes during 2013 when former rhythm guitar Roberto Colon left the band and Camacho took over as new member. During 2013 the band took a new spin in their sounds and tuning as they adopted the seven string guitar play.

Their offering “Fractions” starts off with the intro “Gateway” which gives us a taste of things to come and leads into the very impressive galloping “Mirrors” containing some impressive fretwork. “Perceptions” is a more Thrashy than metalcore number, and “Fractions of Red” gives lead singer Kelvin Rodriguez  the chance to stretch his vocal range along with some tight drumming from Bryan Rios

The EP concludes with “Crossroads” a two paced number discussing regret and what could have been .
VFAD need not look back at what could have been, as with this release they clearly have their future in their own hands.

Cleverly written songs discussing struggle, adversity & life mean that they are obviously a very intelligent band and this comes through in their music, more please!
