They can’t promise wall-to-wall sun, but with this year marking the big 10 Hellfest can promise one hell of a birthday party. Having become something of a major fixture in the European metal festival calendar, Hellfest is once again bringing metal to Clisson, France in a big way. Let’s take a look at just who’s going to be there…
Where to start… Hellfest is made up of six stages, a twin pair of Main Stages, the dual set-up of the Altar and the Temple (where lurks the dark and black metal), the Valley (stoner/groove/doom/rock types) and the Warzone (punk and hardcore).
As such headliners range from Slipknot and Korn to Judas Priest and Scorpions, via Obituary, Nightwish, Venom and Shining, and stopping off at the Dead Kennedys.
With such a fantastic lineup it’s hard to pick out anyone for a special mention but worth checking out will surely be Faith No More, Alice Cooper, Superjoint Ritual, Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, Motorhead, Airbourne, Lamb Of God, Mastodon…. *pause for breath*… who are we kidding, there’s not many on this 150-strong bill that aren’t worth watching, and that includes those smaller names opening up each day. Set your alarm early.
Shedding all of its weekend passes in less than a month, Hellfest recently announced day tickets were also gone making it a sellout across the board. UK festival goers who weren’t lucky enough to grab a ticket before might want to check out Argon Events‘ packages as there may or may not be some left…
Here’s hoping anyway because it seems hell is absolutely the best place to be!
