New Model Army bassist joins THE KING IS BLIND; Temples Festival appearance on the horizon

Ahead of their appearance at the 2015 edition of Temples Festival, THE KING IS BLIND have announced the addition of New Model Army bassist, Ceri Monger, to their ranks. The line up change means that frontman Steve Tovey can focus exclusively on vocals during live performances.

Lee Appleton (lead/rhythm guitar) stated:

“We’re thrilled to announce that we have enlisted Ceri Monger as our new bass player, leaving Steve free to stalk the stage like an unleashed apex predator. Some of you will know Ceri from his work in one of the UK’s truly great bands, New Model Army, others will know him as the brother of TKIB drummer Barney. We thank Justin and the rest of the NMA guys for their understanding in allowing Ceri to spend some of his down-time with a bunch of miscreants, such as we are. With his sublime musical intuition and ebullient disposition, we look forward to sharing some great times with him, starting with our appearance at Temples Festival.”

THE KING IS BLIND will play on Sunday 31 May at Temples Festival. The festival, which takes place at Motion, Bristol, UK, boasts a line up featuring Converge, Pig Destroyer, Earth, Torche and many more over three days.

The band are wrapping things up in the studio in rural Essex with producer Tom Donovan, who has been recording their debut full length album – the follow up to last year’s The Deficiencies of Man EP. The band themselves describe the album as “an involved and dark concept album”. With a profound and terrifying narrative arc, not only will the band’s debut album examine further the deficiencies of man, it will seek to uncover the true nature of the relationship of mankind and sin, and the origins of that connection, against a backdrop of high quality extreme metal compositions.
