Death metal groups NUCLEUS and MACABRA announce new split release via Morbid Visions

Chicago’s Nucleus have teamed up with Belgian / American duo Macabra to release a 6 track death metal album. Two of the most notable acts in the death metal underground of late come together to release a perfectly balanced split with each band contributing three songs.

Nucleus and Macabra - Fragmented Self
Fragmented Self – Cover artwork by Dan Seagrave

NUCLEUS, having released a highly acclaimed album in ‘Sentient’, push the sound further over here, bringing the DEMILICH-esque hooks and riffing to a new, more grotesque and twisted setting, whereasMACABRA, fresh from their recent ‘To the Bone’ full length, display even more technical and weirdly atmospheric music on this split. Both bands complement each other perfectly, technical wizardry getting overrun by fiendish ghouls in an anachronistic world turned upside down and inside out. The mind-blowing artwork by Dan Seagrave aptly captures the surreal vibrancy of this record. This is possibly the best split release you’ll hear in 2017.
