Supreme Dominion hails from the Greek Island of Thessaloniki. The album under review, Triptolemus (son of King Celeus of Eleusis in Attica, or primordial man), is a self-released, 4-track debut album which came out in March 2017. This independent release has no physical version and can only be obtained in digital format. Not much is known about this band, but lyrically they are about ancient Greek mythology, and also about Nietzsche (‘Where is your God?’). But what about the music? Unfortunately I have very little positive to write.

If you are expecting typical Greek melodic black metal (for which the scene is known), then keep looking, because this band does not sound Greek in that sense. This might be a good thing, but in the case of Supreme Dominion it is not. The album is short, the music is disorganised and often sounds out of time or tune, especially with the highly reverberated guitar sounds. There is not a single song that stands out or that caught my attention.

I am a great admirer of Greek black metal bands, but this band is not one of them. The album is only available through Bandcamp and you can pay as much, or as little as you want for it. I doubt that this album will ever get a proper CD release, and unless Supreme Dominion comes up with some better songs, I give this band no real future within the Greek black metal scene.
