Ahh. 80’s inspired LA hair metal. There’s nothing better. Hold on – hair metallers from Germany that aren’t passed their 50’s with middle aged spread encased in leather and with a genuinely decent album? I must be dreaming!

Kissin’ Dynamite (should come with a health and safety warning) give us their next studio album, ‘Ecstasy’, which is released this summer. If you want an album of pure rock and roll, this is the one for you. “You need neither reinvent the wheel nor convey multiple messages with your songs,” says drummer and main lyricist Andreas Schnitzer. “Catchy good-time hooks and enjoyable tunes full of passion – that’s our thing and the reason for the foundation of the group,” adds primary songwriter Hannes Braun. And they’re not wrong, do you need to reinvent the wheel to make a great sounding album? No. The opening track of ‘I’ve Got the Fire’ starts off timid, but wow, what a tune. THAT is how you open an album, and the rest of the album does not disappoint. The title track ‘Ecstasy’ is a great sing along tune, all the way through to ‘Heart of Stone’. Metal is great for whipping your hair back and forth but when you can get a good album that you actually want to sing along with, that is something special to behold.

After years of touring throughout Europe with their own headlining shows, Kissin’ Dynamite will be special guests for the ever successful Powerwolf this autumn.
