This band from Atlanta, Georgia has been together since 2013 when M. Chvasta formerly of Light Pupil Dilate and Palaces got together with Avril Che. Chad Williams of Magnapop later joined on drums in 2014 and has been replaced by Danny Ryann. The band has been described as being similar to Type O Negative, Pinkish Black, and Chelsea Wolfe.

To be fair, the band is tight and plays well, the vocals are clear and the production is crisp. Now that we are done with what I liked, let’s get into the rest of the review. The vocals remind me of Jim Morrison and the lead singer of Type O Negative. The whole thing reminds me of them. With one Type O Negative around, why do we need another? I sure don’t. The songs are too similar sounding and don’t have anything that grab me, nor stand out to me, other than the fact they are too close in sound to the previously named band. I was glad that this was only a short EP, it went by quick enough and I got through it without too much agony.

If you are a fan of Type O Negative, are brooding, live in your parent’s basement, or like things that are derivative… this is for you! I hope that they can come up with something far more original in the future.
