HEAVY METAL better than THE BEATLES say kids; Slay Duggee release debut album

Slay Duggee prove that Kids Love Metal

Debut album Kids Love Metal out now

Kids’ metal band SLAY DUGGEE release their debut album “Kids Love Metal” today on Friday 5th Oct, and also released revelatory research proving kids do actually love metal more than other genres.

SLAY DUGGEE were so confident that heavy metal is exactly the music that children want to hear, they put it to the test and pitched their album against some of the “greatest” albums in the world by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys and Bob Dylan.

Stripped of any cultural context, kids naturally gravitated towards heavy metal rather than the old lauded recordings. For instance, 10 out of the 10 kids tested preferred Slay Duggee ‘Kids Love Metal’ to The Beatles ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’. Kids love metal!

Drummer Black Shuck commented:

“It’s in our nature to enjoy shouting, jumping around, making noise, and dressing up. The four pillars of heavy metal. It’s no surprise that kids prefer Slay Duggee to the old music relics.”

Comments from the test group:

“I really like Michael Jackson, but I like Slay Duggee more.”

Gareth, 8

“I really like the Beatle one, but I think Slay Duggee is better.”

Tamzin, 6

“I love it. It’s just like so metal rock.”

Nicola, 7 (commenting on Slay Duggee)

“They smell of goat wee.”

Nick, 4 (commenting on The Beach Boys)

“I think that this is one of the worst bands that I’ve ever heard.”

Dan, 6 (commenting on The Beatles)

SLAY DUGGEE was formed in January 2018, only 48 hours later, Slay Duggee’s first single ‘Stick’ was played on BBC Radio 6 Music by Steve Lamacq

Lamacq dubbed SLAY DUGGEE the ‘Lords of Toddler Metal’ and personally requested a cover of the theme tune to BBC CBeebies show Sarah & Duck. Since then, SLAY DUGGEE have amassed almost one million listens, giving thousands of kids and toddlers their first taste of heavy metal.

SLAY DUGGEE have since collaborated with TesseracT guitarist James Monteith, and Nekrogoblikon vocalist and songwriter Nicky “Scorpion” Calonne with their cover of The Lego Movie’s ‘Everything Is Awesome‘.

SLAY DUGGEE launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund their debut album Kids Love Metal. 14 heavy metal cover versions of children’s songs and theme tunes, containing their previous singles ‘Stick’, ‘Sarah & Duck’, ‘Go Jetters’, ‘The Sea The Sky’, ‘Everything Is Awesome’, and ‘Baby Shark’ as well as eight new unheard songs, including popular CBeebies theme tunes from ‘Octonauts’ and ‘Something Special’. Billed by the band as “The only Toddler Metal album you’ll ever need. Until our next one.” The album has been mixed and mastered by Steve Sears (The Hell/Gold Key).

SLAY DUGGEE are already working on their second album and plan to start a campaign to launch it at Download 2019.

Drummer, Black Shuck continued “It’s vital that the children of the world receive the correct musical upbringing. This album will be a key educational tool for any responsible parent.”
