Review:

This is a new UK melodic death metal five-piece who are already causing quite a stir. With a previous EP, the band has just released their debut album of nine fist-in-your-face tracks. Combining the power and flash of hardcore, death metal and beatdown, this is a thundering album. The band shows themselves as staunch anti-capitalists, whose lyrical themes include environmental nihilism, anti-exploitation, anti-fascism, and anti-colonialism.

Not all of the vocals are cookie monster. There is the gargling with the mic vocals, but some clearer and gruff vocals that you can actually hear the lyrics for a change. As usual, if this was instrumental, I would love it, but there is an instrumental on here, “De Conflictu Noctis Aeternae Obruat”. The song is gentle and beautiful, then goes heavy and back to light again…terrific. I also liked “Rapture” and “Slaves Of Capital” because the vocals were the clearest and I actually could get into it more. The band is smoking hot, playing with fierceness and anger which I loved. The clear production work also helped make this a pretty good album as well.

I thank the band for going a bit outside the box. Grab this one and scare your neighbour’s cat.
