Review:

Children of The Sün are an 8-piece musical group from Sweden who exhibit a combined style of blues and classic rock. Inspired by the likes of Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin, this debut album has reestablished the sound of hippie culture and a sense of nature for many listeners. Although this style of music is not a regular listen for me, it was good to venture into nostalgic music.

The opening track starts off with psychedelic vibes and a classic theme but later declines into a bore that lasts to the finish; most songs were dim and didn’t offer anything at all. The release did not excite me or devise an ambience while listening. Most tracks had the same repetitive wistful feeling with no changes and are easily predictable.

I regret to say that I did not fully enjoy this release until hearing the track “Like a Sound”. In my opinion, this was the only track with smooth composition and a psychedelic groove. Although there is hope for “Like a Sound”, the rest of the tracks were dull and did not captivate me; this album overall did not give me a good experience of a classic rock revival. I don’t believe I will recommend this entire album but it would also be imprecise to depict this release as poor. The singer is very skilled and has a good vocal range, however the production offered almost nothing and was an absolute bore to me.
