UK Progressive punk metal band QUELLA release their brand new single – Smalltown Eiderdown

This is the first scheduled release from the band’s upcoming EP, Donor Fatigue – recorded at The Ranch Production House by Lewis Johns (Conjurer, Funeral For A Friend, Rolo Tomassi, Gnarwolves) and due for release on November 22, 2019.

Ahead of the EP, the London/Brighton four piece have given an early taste of what’s to come via the weighty punch of their new single, Smalltown Eiderdown. The song is streaming now and available for download on Itunes, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube and all major digital platforms.

Stef (Lead Vocals) describes the inspiration behind the song: “It’s a scathing attack on the underdevelopment of the countryside! – Quella do Countryfile and come away with a very different view of our green and pleasant land.”

Of the music, guitarist, Bean elaborates: “We feel really proud of everything we’ve achieved with Donor Fatigue. In terms of how we present ourselves, it’s definitely a positive step forward and with all credit to Lewis Johns, we sound a lot more polished this time around but without losing any of the elements that make Quella a bit of an oddity.
We’ve often been told we are a difficult band to pigeonhole – and that’s fine with us. While our approach has never been to be deliberately eclectic or hard to pin down, we’ve developed a really honest way of songwriting that doesn’t adhere to the limits of any particular genre. We’ll go wherever the mood takes us and we draw on a wide set of influences. The result is something that has the weight of heavy metal but with the uncomplicated energy of punk. We sit somewhere between Gang Of Four and Alice In Chains but we’re just as likely to be influenced by Spike Milligan or the noise of a squeaky door!”

Smalltown Eiderdown is the first of two planned singles ahead of the EP release date. You can listen to it below:

In addition to this news, on November 15, a second single, Crown Of Flies will build the anticipation further until the ultimate release of Donor Fatigue on November 22, 2019.
