Following the release of their stellar first single ‘Handmade’ – Last Hounds unveil their second single, They Say (I Know, I Know).
The single, ‘They Say (I Know, I Know)’ sees Last Hounds working to adapt to the current situation following the ongoing worldwide pandemic to deliver a video that brings a new meaning to ‘home’ made. Using just their mobile phones the band embraced the adaptable ethos of Hardcore, welcoming a new creative idea for a music video that importantly illustrates that Hardcore spirit in that we are all in this together.
Director Zak Poland had this to say about the video :
“When the Lockdown began for the COVID 19 Pandemic, I was asked by the guys in Last Hounds to create a video for their new single ‘They Say’. This current situation is something none of us have ever experienced, nor could have predicted, so I pretty much rendered this task impossible.
However after a lengthy chat with the band, we decided to see what we could create just using mobile phones. I sent the boys a detailed list of instructions and settings to use to capture this video from their own homes. I’m proud to say I’ve been a part of what was effectively a successful experiment that completely relates to the shit-awful times we are all currently living in! I really enjoyed being involved in this project and I’m overwhelmingly happy with the finished product.”
Bassist Ben Taylor states about the video :
“We weren’t originally planning on doing a video for “They Say” but we saw the UK lockdown as a challenge really. We may be in physical lockdown, but that doesn’t mean our creativity has to be! The whole video was filmed on our smart phones, under the guidance and instruction from our boy Zak and filmed by our girlfriends”
Previously Last Hounds have released two EP’s. Their 2016 self titled debut and 2017’s ‘Old Dreams’ of which singles ‘DOA’ and ‘Lay Me Down’ garnered radio support from Kerrang!’s own Alex Baker. ‘They Say (I Know, I Know)’ is the second single to come off the band’s forthcoming album set for release later this year with a tentative date due to the current circumstances.
The five piece, Midlands based Hardcore band, meld influences that combine the fearless energy of Gallows, the ear worm style songwriting of letlive. with the swagger of Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes. Established in 2013 Last Hounds have slowly but surely been honing their songwriting craft to deliver their brand new single ‘Handmade’. Touring the UK extensively throughout this time, having supported Bullets & Octane and Skindred has allowed the band to build a truly loyal fan base throughout the country.
