Review

A fairly new band from Australia is death metal group Evoker, who have debuted their EP on CD, 12″ vinyl, and cassette tape formats. They are becoming more recognisable as the days go by.

As the album works its way in, black metal traditions are added to what is inspired to be a death metal piece – with deep rhythms, roaring beats and a tremendous musical structure. We are taken back to explore the days of old school death metal in the track “Old Evil”, with its malevolent tempo and alluring outbursts. This album will continue to be the streamed and played by the growing number of protesters. The nature of the album is primal, raw and intense as they provide grim, spellbinding rhythms.

They have surely made a great comeback since their first demo and have also captured sinister sounds to transform into a possible Australian masterpiece. Gruesome and primitive, Evoker have delivered us ecstatic death metal passages with brilliant record production.
