Like many nightclub security doormen, London-born Teddy Dean has found himself out of work, locked up alone in his house after the Covid-19 Pandemic decimated the hospitality industry.
From working daily in the bustling capital of London’s nightlife to suddenly finding himself in total isolation, Teddy did not know what to do with himself.
“Living alone with no contact with other people, well you get lonely and it drives you a little bit crazy,” says Teddy. “I don’t really have many friends outside of my work, so I started having little conversations with myself, but that soon got boring. So I started inventing imaginary friends to pass the time. I started to get to know these new friends quite well, dreaming up elaborate backstories, and as we all have a similar taste in music, I thought I’d start a band with them. PROCESSION OF DEVILS was born”.
The first official track “Covid Fest” is a punk-metal fusion capturing the frustration and boredom of being stuck at home during the pandemic.
Joining vocalist Teddy in PROCESSION OF DEVILS is ex abbatoir slaughterman turned militant vegan Tommy Johns on bass, guitarist Gary Block who Teddy describes as “a general all-round nice bloke who likes to keep his head down” and a mysterious spirit in black named Delta Empire, who as well as playing drums produces all the music.
“I’m pretty grateful for Delta actually” muses Teddy. “I’m not that great on drums and definitely not a producer, so when Delta came to me in a series of visions after I ate some wild mushrooms I found on one of my daily permitted walks it was a bit of a Godsend. He’s an incredible drummer and I love the way he’s made the music sound.”
Teddy plans to release at least one new song every month.
