New single ‘Boom’ is quintessential Martha, exploring the mundanity of adult life with wit and a charismatic tongue in cheek approach that is hard to resist. It provides the perfect preview of the ‘Dog Hearted Man’ EP, which as Martha explains, is an intentionally more upbeat offering than her previous EPs;

“This EP is definitely a bit dafter than the other two, which I think is important after such a difficult and serious year. I just wanted to put some trombone down and play with some beats and have a laugh! It’s a collection of songs that are all quite self-reflective and I talk about all the different parts of myself (the dog-hearted man) from being a bored 25-year-old to my lazy alter-ego, to my old house 151. Talking about growing cheese plants and nostalgia.. a lot of the subject matter is pretty mundane! But then the older you get, the more settled life gets, and the less drama there is to write about haha. Maybe I’m the dog-hearted man… maybe you’re the dog hearted man! Either way, they’ve settled down, chilled out, bought a suit and started living the adult life.”

In support of the ‘Dog Hearted Man’ EP, Martha has also announced a 10-date tour of the UK in October this year, taking in her hometown of Newcastle on 17th October and headlining Colours in Hoxton on 20th October.
